Thank you so much. I was surprised to actually see a comment since I just made this blog a day or so ago and just now back dated most of the cakes I have pictures for. You can expect a new cake or two every week.
Glad you like. And just so you know, we are toying with the idea of mail order cakes. =P
Aw, thanks. Yeah, this one is getting more and more popular, what is crazy is how often they say "just make up a design" for these style cakes and they never see em until the day of.
I dont really know. The lady bug is the bride's cake while the soccer ball is the groom's cake. I think it's just two things they really like. I thought it was a cute idea.
OMG this is amazing!!!!! I wish you were closer! Do you mind if I show this someone to 'copy'? I would love to use this or something similar for a baby shower- it is just too cute- I have never seen anything like it- I love it!
Wow.
I was going through old entries and found this one on my birthday. :-D
This is one of my all-time favorites, I love it!
(even better if it was all purple and silver, lol)
I was just browsing the lj site and came across this blog. I worked in a bakery for serveral years so, of course, this peaked my interest.
I have to say, I never had a "dream" cake for my wedding (whenever that may be), but I'm pretty sure this is it. It's stunning in it's color and simplicity.
That's one heck of a message to put on the top of a cake, that sort of thing is more what you put on a tombstone. I would've just left it at putting her name on it.
It was a really interesting cake to make. The bride wanted it to look like rivers. Also of note, this cake went to the gorgeous Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, CA.
Thanks, we actually had to make that cake twice. There was a huge problem with the setting of it and it collapsed. It was a big disappointment but eventually we got it together. They looked even better up close.

That is one of the coolest cakes I have ever seen, even cooler than some of the ones you have already pictured here as well as the ones our wedding cake lady did (you should have seen some of hers!).
How did you make the treads? What are those rectangles?
The treads were just cut pieces of fondant that we put in a pattern that resembled tire treads. Pretty simple, but when executed = awesome.
Also, you'll note that the extra tire isnt on a silver board because the bridal party didnt let me finish setting it up before they started taking pictures of it.
Cool! I really like this one. it reminds me of books stacked on top of each other. or boxes stacked on top of each other! either way I like the colours and the shape, Beautiful!
