do you do the flowers or just work with the bride's selected florist?
From: [info]thecakeblog Date: 06/02/2007 14:38:33

WE do floral work when we need to, otherwise we just let their florist do their thing. Most of the flowers you see here are from us because we dont really wait around for the florist to finish.

I love this style of cake where it looks like fabric has been draped over it. Very elegant.

if you don't mind... how do the physics work behind this? is the cherub hollow and light?
From: [info]thecakeblog Date: 06/04/2007 14:23:26

Yes, there was also some supports in the second tier to keep the cherub from sinking into the cake.

What are the tier sizes on that? That thing is massive!!

What's the biggest cake you've ever done?
From: [info]thecakeblog Date: 06/10/2007 14:58:12

That cake is probably 14" or 16" at the base. The biggest cake we have done. Hmmm, probably a 7 tier cake, I think we needed three people to lift it.

And for the oragami ones, did you have to make all the oragami by yourself?
From: [info]thecakeblog Date: 06/01/2007 13:01:48

Yeah, we made all of the origami cranes ourselves.

absolutely wonderful! I would love a cake like this! are the shells Edible?
From: [info]thecakeblog Date: 06/01/2007 13:03:32

If I recall correctly those shells were made out of white chocolate. The kelp was made out of fondant, as were the waves. They wanted a sea theme because they met at the ocean.

Oh, and I think the sand was raw sugar.

From: [info]majaji Date: 06/01/2007 13:13:45

that's awsome! I think that is my favorite cake, and the fact that the shells were white chocolate is great, since it's my favorite! Anyways, keep up the good work!
